Some have websites, but most are outdated. I am a web developer and have offered my services to most of them. I am surprised how many of them are still in the stone age!

Like alot of businesses, they do not want to invest in a quality developer to do the work. They all depend on a "friend who can do websites"! I cringe everytime I hear that. Why would a business rely on someone with no experience to market their business?

Look at all the smoke shops in middle TN that don't even show up on Google. Their friends did their websites! No seo whatsoever.

If you search for Nashville cigar in Google, Smoke and Ale, and NCC, come up at the top of the results. I am not counting the directory listings, just the organic results.

yeah, I've seen the type. I admit I'm not a "professional" grade dev. but I do try my best for not having taken any classes or degrees. I've learned by experience.

I have been developing since 1994. I specialize more in seo now, but still do freelance web design work on the side. During the day I work full time running an ecommerce company and handling all of their development and IT work.
