I had the privilege of smoking a Carlos Torano Tribute 2008 this past Tuesday Evening at the Patch in Clarksville. I must say that from the beginning it was one of the more enjoyable cigars I’ve had in a while. One a scale of 1-5 this is a 4.5 in my book.
From their website you can learn that the wrapper is a Brazilian Mata Fina. The Binder is from Honduras and the filler is a combination of Dominican Republic and Nicaragua tobaccos. I smoked the torpedo- 6 ⅛ x 52.
In presentation it has a dark, oily, nicely veined appearance. I cut my torpedos differently depending on my mood. I cut the end of this one evenly. It lit easily and burned evenly with a nice white ash.
It had a rich almost creamy flavor from the very beginning. You didn’t have to smoke this cigar long to get to the real flavor. It was there at the beginning and continued throughout- very consistent.
I would consider this a medium to full flavored cigar.
I encourage all of you to try it. This could be a box purchase for me in the future.
