What is the opinion of this stick? I've never had a Don Pepin Garcia labeled product (have smoked things he's had a hand in) so I was wondering what the general thoughts were.

The new My Father Le Bijou 1922 petite robusto is my new favorite cigar. I've smoked several of his branded cigars and have found the original My Father cigars and the blue label stcks to be my other favorites of the bunch. Honestly, I've never had a cigar that he has blended or helped blend that I didn't like. My advice, pick a few up and give 'em a whirl. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Since this I smoked 2 Blue Labels and smoked one My Father Le Bijou 1922 with another sitting in the humidor. I actually think I preferred the Blue Label over the My Father, which is odd because my favorite cigar is the Camacho Triple Maduro and I feel the My Father was a little more punch to it. Like some others here, I'm not the kind of person that can write a review about hints of this, and hints of that, but I enjoyed it. Thanks for the recommendation.

I'm glad you enjoyed them. Since you liked the blue label best I'll fill you in on a little piece of cigar rumor. When we were at the Pepin event at UPtowns there was a torcedor rolling fresh rolled sticks that you received with a box purchase. According to the reps this cigar consisted of the binder and filler of the blue label and the wrapper of the orginal My Father. I smoked mine that night right after it left the rollers hands. It was quite possibly the best cigar I've ever smoked, but maybe it was more about the nostalgia. The rumor is this is going to be a new My Father release set for later in the year. If it's true there's definitely a box of these in my future!

That was the word getting around when Pepin Garcia was down at Burns in Chattanooga, as well. That special stick rolled at the event is due to be released as a regular line stick eventually--and a great choice, too.

On the original question, I think my favorite of the DPG-branded sticks (I would include the My Fathers in that) is the Blue Label. They have a great flavor for a reasonable (though not cheap) price. The Black Label (Cuban Classic) I don't care for much at all. The Serie JJ (white label) I enjoyed, especially the Maduro version. I loved the My Father Le Bijou 1922, but the price is stronger than the cigar. On the regular My Fathers, I've only had a "Cedros Deluxe" with the cedar sheath around the bottom half. This imparted a very strong cedar flavor that was a little more than I liked. After getting past the first third or so, I loved the flavor, but that first segment where the cedar had been was a little hard to take. I've got a couple non-Cedros versions of the My Father waiting for me in my humidor; I'm hoping they are more like the 2nd and last third of the Cedros Deluxe.
